Horse Gram or Gahat ki dal is the most protein-rich lentil found on the planet. Since it is a warming dal, it is consumed during the winters as well. It is harvested in October.

Being a hardy protein-rich dal, it is ideally suggested to not consume during the summers or during pregnancy. This Dal is procured from the farms in the hills around Shitlakhet and is devoid of any processing. Gahat is best cooked in a Bhaddu.
